An Intel Core i3-2120 CPU is required at a minimum to run Adobe Lightroom, however we'd recommend an Intel Core i5-6600K to run the software at its smoothest. The minimum memory requirement for Adobe Lightroom is 4 GB RAM, but ideally 8 GB. If you get a laptop with a standard HD screen (1920x1080 or 1920x1200), you will not need a powerful GPU, and it doesn't have to meet the specifications stated by Adobe because you won't need to turn on the graphics acceleration in the GPU. An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or similar GPU with 4GB VRAM is recommended however. Naturally, laptops with higher end specifications (CPU and GPU) will run Lightroom Classic better than laptops with lower end specifications. GL.The Lightroom system requirements recommend a minimum GPU with DX12 support and 2GB VRAM, for example a GeForce GTX 960 or equivalent. RAM is cheaper than a new CPU and/or MoBo and RAM if needed. Of course thats a bigger investment than RAM, and in that case, up your RAM to about 2GB and see how it performs for you. Im thinking since its a RAM and CPU intensive program, you may want to look into investing into a Dual Core processor if you plan to use it heavily. My primary desktop is the one that ran it with no hiccups and less CPU time used, because its the only Dual Core system I have. I installed it on my laptop, desktop, and backup desktop (im an IT admin and gamer, sue me, lol)

This wasnt an issue as much as I noticed how much CPU time it tried to take while performing functions that dealt with the visual interface, such as sliders. With 1878 files imported into lightroom, I noticed it uses about 300MB or so of RAM give or take. So I opened up the Windows Task Manager and an ASUS hardware monitoring program I use as well and ran Lightroom. I just installed Lightroom and started playing with it and ran across this thread. I don't think video card upgrade will make much of a difference, video card mainly will improve 3d rendering for games and frame-rates., I don't believe PS or LR is all that taxing on videocards.Įquipment: Canon Dig. Memory is the probably #1, then maybe faster-hard drive.

(Note that I'm not a professional either, so while speed is always an issue, its not usually my main concern unless it makes things unusable.)Īs far as upgrade goes. I didn't have it render standard previews when I imported, so that may be the problem for me. Lightroom CC 2015.6.1/Lightroom 6.6. Solved: I was able to download and run Photoshop CC but when I try to download Lightroom it says I dont meet system requirements.

Lightroom CC 2015.1/Lightroom 6.1 and earlier versions are supported on Mac OS X v10.8. Only been using 1.0 for 1 day now, but only annoying issue right now is rendering of image the first time it is opened from the Library. Dual-core processor recommended for HD or AVCHD video functionality. (It's free and developed by only one person, so I'm not complaining about its speed, just using it as a comparison.) You can download Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC 2019 latest version free complete standalone offline file for free. If you want slow, you should see RAWtherapee. Waiting for settings to apply takes only slightly longer than in DPP for me. I'm running on a 2.12ghz laptop with 1Gb of memory (less 64mb shared video memory), and I don't have a problem.
